I have created a new policy that grants rights to a particular local user to logon as service and set the scope to one of our servers where the user is created. However, what I'm seeing is that this server is still picking up the default domain policy and not the one I have created just for it so this user isn't getting the right.

 

Is there something I could be doing wrong? Or does it just take time? Tried a gpupdate but no change.

 

I have a similar policy set for another server and that works fine but that is going from 2003 DC to 2003 member. The server I am trying it on at moment is 2008, getting policies from 2003. Could that be why?

What does gpresult say on the server, does it think it has applied the GPO? have you tried running a RSOP to find out the winning GPO.

Enforce the policy.

The policy is set to enforce already.

Sods law that I've just run gpresult. Checked the policy I'd changed, and it's now applied. How odd!
