Hi..

We are having a problem with High Alert sounds.

"Some Computers work, some don't"

Anyone know why/where the sound is?

We have a mix of Window XP and Windows 7.

We want this most of all as we are going to start using Emergency Alerts.

Thanks for your help in advance.

The SIMS alert sound comes from the PC's internal speaker - I'd put money on the machines that don't work either have no internal speaker or don't have it wired to the mobo

That's what i thought but it don't sound like a system beep.. also not that it matters but it also works on a VM, and if i mute the volume in windows then it stops the sound.

Do you mean the sound in the VM mutes if the Windows volume is muted, or sound in a "real" Windows machine doesn't play when volume is muted?

I'd expect the VM is only emulating an internal speaker, which would explain Windows being able to mute it, but SIMS running in Windows "proper" shouldn't be able to be muted...

Unless I'm talking about a different kind of alert! I know when we send messages here, it's the internal speaker that plays the alert, so I'd have thought it the same for you...
