Windows 8 won't work :(

I thought I would jump in and try Windows 8 on one on the kiddies little Stone N109 notebooks... intel Classmate model but alas none of the apps work as the screen res is too low

 

I have installed the screen rez utility to try and downsize it but I needed to install net framework from the internet, which opeded up IE straight away even though it wouldn't from the tiles. Have to say the install process is very pretty.

 

I will force myself to use it and see what its like. The tiles seem to work really well on the little netbook though.

I had the same problem with a Samsung notebook. In the end I installed Classic Shell and down(up)graded the interface back to Windows 7 look and feel.

 

Defeats the object if you wanted the metro interface, but Windows 8 is much faster on every notebook I've tested it on.

Got it working using the overscan registry hack, doesn't look right though so don't think i will use it.

 

Shame really, i was enjoying swearing at the screen with all the changes and not being able to do anything logical.
