DannyParvalux Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Hello All, Is there a way through GPO or anything else I can set the whole network to only be able to print 2-Sided? We don't have a print server and every printer has the ability to do this automatically. Hope you can help!
sted Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 you MIGHT be able to fire out the appropriate reg setting via gpp but unless every printer is identical its probably asking for trouble
jamesreedersmith Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 If you are i using shared printers - change the default printer properties on the server and this should apply automatically to users who have it mapped.
DannyParvalux Posted February 15, 2013 Author Posted February 15, 2013 I tried Changing the default on the printer on the server last night but unfortunately it only changed the default setting for the administrator account and not everyone else.
Arthur Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Did you click Printing Defaults on the Advanced tab? http://i.imgur.com/xYLe4eo.png
DannyParvalux Posted February 15, 2013 Author Posted February 15, 2013 I Did, I have solved it now, On the printer's web interface there was a setting allowing users to save their settings. Now i have taken that setting away they all have to print 2 Sided. Many Thanks for all your help!
crt404 Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Just be careful they don't try to pull the paper out prematurely as the printer goes to print the second side - the number of printers I've had to unblock with ripped paper because of that.. Grrr... *end rant*
