Good Morning Everyone,

 

Just a quick question does anybody have any idea how many watts the 7363 AP requires for POE ???

 

We currently have 3 3-com Baseline Switch 2426 PWR Plus 24 port switches, which produces 29.6w per port

is this enough to power the 7363 AP's ???

 

Will it also cause any issues as the ports are 10/100 and not GB.

If you have gig switches I'd be tempted to use PoE injectors and them instead, splitting 100mbit/s out between however many clients is rather slow if you are doing much more than a bit of web surfing. I know that when I was using an Aruba AP and a PoE injector the network side was very crashy until I got it onto a gig switch.

Think I may have found the answer, just found a site and its suggested that they run at 12.9w,

just need to find out the maximum wattage the switch can handle now.

Found the info and it looks like it has a maximum of 154w per switch,

This might make more sense as I found another site that says the switch runs at 15.4w per port not the 29.6 I had been told,

this would work out at a max of 10 ap's per switch....

Thank you for that, looks like were going to need some POE injectors as we do have cisco gig switches ;),

sadley I dont think the room has the power for them so that will need sorting to :(.
