considering it was right in front of the ref, I found it hard to believe he did nothing at the time.

I am not surprised at the citing, definitely should be cited for that, it was a moment of sheer stupidity/lunacy/thuggery on his part there I felt, lucky no one was badly hurt for that.

He could have ruled himself out of the Lions with that,

For me that should have been at LEAST a yellow...if not a red for straight up violent conduct, its worse than the red card take Warburton made in the world cup in my eyes

1 year international ban, 3 month club ban. It will serve as a detterent for anyone else that wants to try it

That would be nice, but at punishment level in Rugby, there is never a massive amount of consistency it seems when it comes to meeting out punishments.

It made me angry when I saw it, and even angrier when he got away with it, because it's making players think they can get away with it so it's worth a go.

Haskell's yellow, fair enough, every player tries something like that on with a face of innocence, he was just unfortunate enough to get caught. Healy could have ended Cole's career there though.

Shame those 2 punches he threw at another player who was trapped in a ruck (which caused another brawl) didn't get cited or seen by the poor officials either.

Calum Clark for Northampton got a 32 week ban when he intentionally broke someones elbow, and I think these type of players deserve similar lengthy bans - even if they don't hurt the player or do not "connect" with the punches. Thugs like these need to be taught harsh lessons.

Disgrace to the game.
