[sims] Whole Class achievement in SIMs? How?

Hi

 

Is it possible to award a whole class an achievement using SIMs. Currently its a labourious right click ¦ Add achievement process for each individual.

 

Is it possible to do them all in one go? and is it possible to do them all in one go but de-select any absentees?

Yes, the easiest way is through Lesson Monitor. Click on the first pupil, hold down shift and click on last pupil, hold down ctrl and de-select any absent pupils, right click and select achievement from list.

Thanks for replying but this method doesnt work for me, I cant deselect as you described nor create an achievemen for more than one student? Is it version dependent?

 

Is there another 'quick' method ?

I have just tried this on test data and it works. Pressing Ctrl+A whilst in the register also works.

Once all the student names go yellow, its a right click to Add an Achievement.

The setup for what can be added via the right click is set by Tools, Setups, Behaviour management, Behaviour Type. The ones with YES in the show in Register column you can add.

Right click may not be enabled, but you can still use the links panel on the right to add behaviour, achievement entries etc.

When you multi-select using either the shift or ctrl buttons, the links panel reduces it's available options to only positive/negative behaviour plus report card as these are the only multi student enabled options.

If the problem is actually selecting students, there used to be some funny setting where clicking wouldn't do what you expected. I think it was the toggle marks setting in tools | setups | attendance setups but generally, you should be able to click on the students' names to select them, clicking anywhere else on the grid won't work.

You can also bulk add achievements via Student / Maintain Achievements. I use this for adding whole school merit points.
