Apple Configurator "Waiting to authorize apps"

Hi guys

 

Have had an issue recently where I have had to get my VPP code's reset due to a hardware failure.

 

The VPP team sent out the new codes and I have now rebuilt the machine & downloaded all the Apps needed. The issue I am having is that once the Ipads are prepared & Supervised I am trying to restore a backup and then deploy the codes to the devices.

 

I am running the latest version of configurator and IOS8.2 ( had no choice really ) but all the Ipads freeze at Waiting to authorize Apps, Just wondering if anyone has seen this before as its driving me crazy.

I had exactly this issue after the iOS7 update last year. The solution was to sign out of iTunes, Configurator and for some obscure reason the Mac App Store then sign back in to the App Store and iTunes with the account that you use for distributing apps. Configuration should then ask for the account password when you try to distribute and hopefully all will be fine.

You could also go into iTunes and make sure your mac is Authorised for the account you are pushing the apps with. This is under Store > Authorise this Computer.

Hi Guys

 

What a nightmare this seems to be an issue with the new version of configurator but only when applying a backup to the devices. So far the only way I have found that works is by doing the following with each batch :

 

- Sign in and out of iTunes, Mac Store then Re Booting the mac

- Reboot all iPads before hooking up to configurator

- Then selecting my backup and any VPP apps needed.

- Click Apply

 

seems to do a few then I have to repeat the process all over again.

Wish I noticed this thread BEFORE i said yes to upgrade Configurator.

 

They have introduced another bug. I had it working like a dream. Now same problems as you. What a waste of a day.

Thanks for this. I wasted half an hour thinking it was a one off problem and then finally looking on here! I wasn't even signed in to iTunes. Anyway, I signed into iTunes, opened the App Store and was signed in. I signed out of each and closed them, closed Configurator ignoring the warning of dire consequences (did not unplug USB!), opened iTunes and the App Store and signed in again. Reopened Configurator and straight away it asked for my Apple ID password and we were away with authorising and installing the apps on the iPad!

And on the next batch, I got the same problem but just with the one iPad. So this time I just closed Configurator and reopened it again. Straight away it asked for my Apple ID and continued with the stalled iPad.
