We have a number of different types of Dell laptops [Lattitude, E5500, D520, D531,...] and they work well apart from this one little that appears to have started to happen only recently [perhaps due to a Windows update?]

The problem occurs in one of two forms:

1. When logging to the domain as a wireless client they will logon OK and get their desktop. After a short while the desktop and start menu items [redirected using Group Policy] disappear.

2. The laptop does not allow logon until it has been powered up for some time [maybe half an hour]

Upon investigation I found that the Windows utility to manage wireless network access was handing over to the Dell/Intel utility [intel ProSet and DW WLANCard utilities]

I have tried using only the Windows utility to log clients on and only the Dell/Intel utility. Neither approach works. I have updated all drivers and applied all the appropriate Windows updates.

I am now at a loss as to what to try next.

Any suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks.
