If any of you guys are looking at buying replacement projectors you may find this site very handy...

Key in the make and model you are looking at and it will help you work out screen size from any given distance from the board.

 

Used it successfully in three rooms now to replace old projectors. Better than manually calculating the correct figures of, heaven forbid, moving the ceiling mount to accommodate the new projector.

When measuring throw distance do you measure from the projector lens or from the projector centre?

From the lens normally not that it matters as most projectors will allow for some adjustment.

As Alan said, from the lens front, I always go forward a few cm's from there calculations at maximum throw to give a little bit of room for error say if the mount has to be moved a little due to suspended ceiling in the way etc...
