Well I’ve spent my first 3 days moving from pillar to post visiting every department in my new workplace watching (and even trying my hand) at almost every job in the company. I’ve seen how everyone interacts with IT and what it means to them in there day to day job. Its given me a good idea of where the issues lie and what are going to be the little day to day issues that I might have to sort out.

Now how many of you had an induction like that? Do you think that going and seeing key people in your school and how they use systems would have helped you in your early days?
