Why do we even bother?

I have moved over to my new contract and doing the maths from old prorata payment to new prorata wage I stood to make roughly £600 per year, great! Back pay is 2 years, double great!!

 

So today I'm paid next to nothing for my back pay and im not happy!! Quick ring to the pay office and basically I havent had a pay increase ive "moved across to the new pay scale". So where did the extra money come from I hear you say?

 

Apparently I am entitled to more holiday under the new single status and im being paid for that, which coincidently cant be back paid.

 

So, just how many days holiday have they given me? Another 7?

 

And the icing on the cake - I am entitled to 2 pay increases as part of the single status, neither of which I can have because im at the top of my new scale, which I wasnt on the old scale but I havent had a pay rise.

 

Shafted!!

Don't worry my old china. The school I work for reduced my wages by 14% under the Single Status rules. My technical skills are no longer written into my Job Description. Oh yes thats a cool £144.00 each month.
