Folder re-direction - Solved

Just to let anyone know if they are having problems with folder re-direction.

 

In server 2008 R2, under roles > File services > share and storage. In here are the shares and if you right click onthe share, select properties you will see something in advanced settings called "Access-based enumeration".

 

I have found that this has to be disabled so that users my documents can be re-directed.

 

Just out of interest, what is Access-based enumeration?

Access Based Enumeration is where only the folders that users have permission to view are shown on a share, rather than everything. As far as I can remember anyway. Strange that it was turned on for you though, thought it was something you had to enable.

Cheers, I did google it but just wanted a bit more clarifiation on it. I thought it was on as default, hay ho.
