isa server

ok due to doigy way embc have there stuff set up..

 

At moment we have situation where we have an isa server sitting between the admin and main network.

 

At moment configured to allow sql stuff for sims.net.

 

right is there anyway of config isa server to allow traffic through to certain share on admin network from main network.

 

so that office staff can add excel sheets to shared area and teacher pick up on admin network.

Web sharing on folders should do it. It'll then share it via a browser.

Or... use Public Folders on Exchange (if you have it) or use FTP (probably the simplest to set up through the ISA box).

For file access you need TCP 139 (NetBIOS) to be allowed on both network. However users may still get prompted for username and password if the domains dont' trust each other.

 

we are looking at this but because of the security implications i decided to hold back on this. I think the Web Folders may be a good idea as this keeps the security and also allows access via web browser. Only need HTTP or HTTPS
