Seems it is possible. I just didn't realise how to make new staff in nova. The temp1... system would be far eairser.

We have a couple people doing long term cover, in SIMS .net as agency staff so not in personnel and don't have a staff code. Is it possible to update SIMS with agency staff to enable registers etc to be generated for such folks?
