We have several aggregated links between core switches, these are fibre cables to 1Gb transceivers on the switch ports, some of the links have just two aggregated ports and others have three but its the same on each switch link i.e. 2Gb or 3Gb. So yes like NIC teaming but mainly for port or cable failure. I believe that there are different configs for trunk and aggregated links ports like ARP detection etc. Than links to edge switches just not sure where to look and just not enough time at the moment to read every manual, so hoping that another Edugeek user has already similar setup

I have dynamic aggregated links to a static 3com 5500 sfp ei switch, the links work i.e. PC's can get email and Internet etc. but I cannot ping or connect via web browser only via console? 1. Is there a port reset command to reset the port(s) to default? 2. The aggregate links only have the default Vlan, so should those ports be trunked? 3. Should arp detection on aggregate links be disabled? 4. Should Loopback detection on aggregate links be disabled? Hope someone can help, I've looked through several manuals but cannot see the wood for the trees and I would really like to avoid resetting the switch. ccc
