Duties and Responsibilities
We are recruiting for a full time member of staff who will be working as part of a local IT team within the Division of Biosciences supporting primarily Linux infrastructure. This is a key role supporting the ongoing research and IT operational needs of the Biosciences user base. A key aspect of this role is engaging with staff to facilitate technical solutions to evolving requirements.
The purpose of this role is to deliver prompt, customer-focussed, support to Biosciences staff. The post holder will be expected to engage effectively with all staff to facilitate their support requirements, liaising with colleagues across UCL to deliver timely solutions.
The Information Services Division (ISD) exists to support and enhance learning, teaching, research and associated administrative processes at UCL, and to contribute to the development of UCL policy in these areas. Within ISD, IT for SLMS supports and enhances research, teaching and associated administrative processes across the 4 Faculties of Population Heath Sciences, Medical Sciences, Life Sciences and Brain Sciences.
Key Requirements
The post holder requires recent and demonstrable knowledge and experience of Linux. Able to utilise specialist knowledge and adapt to changing technology trends, the post-holder will have a desire to make a significant contribution in supporting IT within Biosciences. Experience in supporting IT within either a research and/or university environment is desirable.
