I have one of these DVI - component video, ATI style adaptors and it doesn't work either.
I can get the TV (Sony KE32TS2E plasma screen) to sense the input and even sense resolution changes, but it will not show a picture. The TV can even choose between RGB, DTV and 'other' on the AV5 component input, but still no joy.
Any further ideas out there? It seems daft to have to spend £100 on a converter box, when there is so little difference between the Mac VGA output signal and the HD component input.
