About Wirewizard

  1. Hi, Long time stalker of the forum, first time poster So, I have just deployed 25 laptops with LANSchool v8. We use class names for the students to log in as this makes life easier for the teachers. I am trying to achieve 1 lanschool channel per class and I was advised by lanschool themselves to change the channel on the teacher colsole, create your class lists by Account name and load the class list into the teacher console, this will set the channel through the teacher application. It works, but the teacher console only ever shows 1 PC in that class because the logins are the same AD account. I have been told by LANSchool that this is unfixable as we are using the same user account on multiple machines. When you dismiss the class, you can see all PCs that are logged in with the same class name, but the channel goes back to channel 1 (Initial channel). This is a problem as if you blank the screens, this done on all laptops on that channel. I have come up with another idea to use a script, set the channel on student login, set the teachers manually dependant on class, when their class logs in, they will see that class of computers on their channel. As Setchannel.exe needs admin rights on the student laptops to run, is there way via GPO/Script to run this to set the channel on student login without prompt for admin? Kind regards
