so..
I've have got an old Smart Board 580 series board.
A serial to usb cable
and a MacBook pro running El Capitan 10.11.6t
I've downloaded the Notebook software v.18 (and have a licence)
tried the latest drivers (12.5)
and it doesn't talk... (no surprise as it is a discontinued product and unsupported..) red/green 1sec then back to red. no usb/serial cable detected in the system profiler.
So, with a bit of research/trawling old threads on here.. I've installed the Smart Board Cable driver (64 bit) for the usb/serial cable, but still no luck.
The led goes red, green for 2 secs and then back to red. usb/serial cable is seen in the system profiler.
With a little bit more trawling the net, it seems that it needs to be running the last version of smart notebook that supported the 500 series boards. (Version 11.6).. But this is not on the Smart website anymore.
Does anyone have a copy of 11.6 for mac?
Also, will it run on El Capitan?
