  2. sorry if i was a bit vaige just thought it might be something someone has come across. i posted this on petri.co.il as well and someone was askin for more info so here you go ive attached a screen shot of the popup server2003 ive done a clean install of XP, installed a number of programs, saved the image, i was just testing the image (making sure all the programs work when the students log on) but every new user that logs on get's this message. it'll be one of the programs that ive installed that is causing it but theres 30+ programs that have been installed. i could probably narrow it down to one of the older ones, but i really cant be arsed to start from scrach, install 1 program and test, install next program and test etc when the user account is created, in the registry it creates a key, hkey_current_user\windows 3.1 migration status\ with a couple of sub keys. ive tried copying this to the hkey_users\.default\
  3. hi, ive just been redoing my ghost images, but now everytime a new user logs in a get a pop up message about migrating settings, any one come across this and know how to get rid of it. thanks.

  5. fri 1st is good for me, ive been to terracotta a couple of times, it is really good, it about £13 per person, does get really busy on fri/sat so need to book it early. flames on granby street is newer but iv not heard many good thins about it. eataway on churchgate is supposed to be good, but not been there yet. ive heard good things about la tasca, went there once, wasn't that impresseed or that full and ended up in subway next door. the travellodge is probably the easiest place to stay in the centre its about £50 per room, (2 people) and if you get bored the casino is just next door.

    Policy Central

Hi just wondering if any of you are running policy central. im currently running the old version, tried the beta for a while but it caused a few problems with QCA test and successmaker. supposedly its been fixed but not had a chance to try it out. any way planning on redoing my servers next week and wasn't sure if i should stick with the old version or put the new version on.

  11. ive done a couple of the exams, and ive used a variety of training materials, when i first started, i signed up to a training centre i paid some and the school paid some, but it ended up being here's the microsoft book work your way through it call us if your stuck, they had a few machines available to mess around with but wasn't that impressed with the place. the first place to check is the microsoft website, find the exam you want to do and it'll have a list of all the topics that are covered in that exam. ive used the microsoft books and sybex books, there both good, but the thing you'll find is that certain topics will get more coverage in one book and less in an other, (either get work to buy books from different publishers, or find someone that you can swap books with) i also blagged school into buying the training cd's from a company called learnkey, which are good but a bit pricey. the best ones ive seen are buy a company called Trainsignal. you can get the whole set on a load of cd's or a external HD. but they cover every thing in lots of detail. the videos are organised in a bit of a weird way ie instead of video 1 - exam 70-290, its more of a video 1 = dhcp, video 2 - file servers, head over to http://www.petri.co.il theres some good reviews of the trainsignal stuff and also loads of useful mcse info. especially in the forums,
  12. hi, i had some information though from a company called dataspire, they were inviting people down to a school in northhampton called campion (I think). i went down and had a look theyve done a really good job. they were a bit cagey about the price but thats always going to depend on the size of you network
