OK, hands up, I'm the salesperson in question. The fact is I'm a very lazy salesman who doesn't like making cold calls as much as you don't like receiving them. As such if I can find out if somebody is looking at implementing a project then I'd rather talk about it with them whilst it's relevant.
Not a tactic my manager would endorse but it's worked for me for 2 years!
I do see the forum as a potential arena for suppliers and buyers to get their heads together, as well as an opportunity for us suppliers to see what really goes on in an IT dept. As such if the administrators would like to generate some income for the BeTT show or to buy themselves a new server then I'm willing (as are A2Z as a company) to come to an arrangement for a commission structure to be set up for sales generated via EduGeek. If this sounds good then please feel free to contact me
And BTW, compliments on the site, I've already spent far too much work time reading forums and not actually doing any work...
