Thank you for the responses. We have multiple entrance doors across two sites. Specifically, we need the system to cover six entrances—four at the main building and two at the second building, which is located a mile away. Would this setup be feasible with the Sign-In App?

Good afternoon, I hope you all are well. We are seeking a sign-in solution that integrates with our current Salto system. The system must log staff arrival and departure times and include an evacuation feature to print a list of staff members on the premises. We are currently considering Inventry, but it appears to be beyond our budget. Are there any more cost-effective alternatives anyone could recommend, please?

Good morning, I hope you all are well. ClickView is up for renewal, and I’m wondering if there are suitable alternatives available. The cost of ClickView doesn’t seem to justify the renewal, given how infrequently it is being used.

Black Screen after login
Supermanpunch786 replied to Supermanpunch786's topic in Learning Network Manager
Thank you for your responses. I have noticed that if we leave it for 10-15 minutes, everything eventually loads. Will this be fixed by Microsoft, or is there something I can do in the meantime? This is happening on various PCs with different specs. -
Good morning, I hope you are all well. We have recently been experiencing a problem where some staff and students receive a black screen when logging in. This issue occurs randomly and inconsistently. It can happen on a few PCs in one ICT suite or randomly across various PCs on site. This problem has only started within the last few weeks and happens on a daily basis.

Hi, These aren't bare metal servers, and all drivers are up to date. The issue began occurring about two weeks after we applied the latest Windows update at the time. It's baffling because our other servers aren't affected. We have a Dell server, an HP server (which also serves as a virtual machine (VM) server hosting a DC as a VM), and a Lenovo server that acts as our deployment server—none of these are experiencing the same problem. The three problematic servers were purchased from the same local supplier in consecutive years between 2015 and 2017.

Good morning, I hope you all are well. Recently, we have been experiencing a temperamental problem. Three of our servers become extremely slow and laggy, requiring us to manually restart them because we cannot remotely access or log in physically. I have been working on this issue for a while, but it still occurs randomly. I believe it usually happens after a backup is completed. The three servers have nearly identical specifications and were purchased from the same supplier. One of them is the domain controller (DC), another is a virtual machine (VM) server that also hosts a DC as a VM, and the third is the file server. None of our other servers encounter this problem. I have checked the event logs and cannot find anything that could be causing this issue. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar issue and what they may have done to resolve it.

DHCP Server and WiFi password
Supermanpunch786 replied to Supermanpunch786's topic in Learning Network Manager
All good responses. Looking at creating a new SSID and have the Chromebooks sync. Will look at 802.1x when I have a bit of time over half term. Thank you all for your time and advice. -
I hope someone could help me out here. We're currently dealing with an issue where a student uncovered the WiFi password and distributed it to their peers. As a result, we've depleted our available IP addresses. Initially, our DHCP lease duration was set to 1 day, but I've shortened it to 12 hours to ease the strain on IP addresses, especially due to the number of mobile devices connected to the WiFi. I'm considering adjusting the scope to increase the available IP addresses, but I won't proceed with this until the half term break. Do you foresee any potential impacts on our network from these changes? We have over 200 Chromebooks. I'm considering changing the WiFi password, but I've been advised against it. The concern is that changing the password might prevent the Chromebooks from receiving the updated policy along with the new WiFi password because all the Chromebooks need to be switched on when the WiFi password change has been made in Google Admin. I'm curious about the accuracy of this advice.

Good evening all, I have recently started to have a problem with my backup. I have a VM server with 4 VMs and noticed that 1 of the 4 VM guest is not available when selecting which hyper V guest to back up. We use backup assist and I have tried everything I can think of. The other 3 are available, besides from 1.

Hi, On one of our servers, I noticed in task manager the speed is much lower than the base speed. When I looked at the other servers, this was not case, all of them was matching the base speed. What could be causing this issue?

Hi, When I plug in a laptop at the non working site in to the port which is configured to the cctv vlan, it returns with a 169 IP...........the switch I am using at the 6th form for the CCTV vlan has VOIP phones connected to it and they are configured on a VLAN too and connect to the main school without any problems. After doing some trouble shooting, I picked something up. I can ping the IP of a switch from the main school site at the 6th form site, yet I cannot ping the IP of a 6th form switch at the main school site. But all the other devices at the 6th form I can ping their IP at the main school site i.e. printers and computers, it is only the switches. Not sure whether that is causing the problem. I contacted the ISP and they said everything is configured for the CCTV vlan to communicate to the 6th form and vice versa.

Hi, This post may sound a bit all over the place due to me not having much knowledge on this at present. Apologies in advance. Our IT is across 2 sites. We have got a new CCTV server which is on a subnet and each IP camera is currently running through a separate vlan. When I change the switch port config to the vlan at the main site and connect to the CCTV, it picks up the camera without any issues. But when I try the same at the other site, it doesn't pick up the camera. I am configuring a switch which is uplinked to the main site. Any suggestions what could be causing this?

Apologies, I didn't get back to you sooner. It was a permissions problem. I suffered a brain fart thinking I added the permissions, but I didn't. Appreciate your help bud.

Hi Kevin, Thank you for the response. I picked the middle option, which was restore. I have checked permissions and it seems to have the correct permissions. The server OS I did the export from is server 2012 r2

Hi all, Hope you are well. I am moving our print server across to a new host by exporting and importing the VM. When I do this, I get the following error message- Hyper v encountered an error during the import operation Server failed to realise virtual machine id This error message occurs hours after the importing the VM in Hyper v has started Any ideas in how to overcome this error, please?

Hi, Thank you for the question. We have a number of servers which hold VMs and do daily backups on external hard drives and to a NAS unit. I currently have 11 physical servers and the 3 I am moving across to 1 are currently on a intel modular server.

Hi, I am looking to upgrade 3 servers with VMs on them to 1 VM server. I am new to this and need some technical advice. My server knowledge isn't up to scratch The current servers have the following specs- Xeon 5620 2.4ghz dual processor 8 core 64gb ram With 1 VM on it already(print server) Xeon 5620 2.4ghz dual processor 8 core 64gb ram With 1 VM on it already(used for catering packages and software) Xeon 5645 2.4ghz dual processor 8 core 64gb ram With 2 VM on it already(1 is the old MIS, which is still needed for GDPR and records and the other is for PS) Would the following server be enough to migrate the 4 VMs to? https://www.etb-tech.com/dell-poweredge-r730xd-1x12-3-5-2-x-e5-2650v3-2-3ghz-ten-core-128gb-4-x-4tb-sas-perc-h730-idrac8-ent-svr-r730xd-006.html
