Hi,
We have a number of laptops which are part of our one-to-one initiative. Because we 'own' these devices, we can be quite tough in terms of policies and installed software. To monitor student activity, we use Senso, it basically gives teachers peace of mind that they can live see what the students are doing.
We are looking at escalating the rollout to other year groups, but due to Covid are concerned that parents might have already bought their children laptops, in which case - if there is an overwhelming proportion of students already with laptops - we might go BYOD in certain year groups.
We could insist on Senso being installed, but because the student owns the device, nothing to stop them uninstalling the software. Has anyone had any experience with software which allows for live monitoring of BYOD devices? I was hopeful there might be some way that we can set up authorisation so that if a specific piece of software isn't running on a BYOD device, the device is not allowed on the network.
Here's hoping.
