Of course you may, it doesn't make it any more correct. Watching it for free and letting lots of people watch it in a canteen in a school are two different things. Sitting at home, all you need is a TV licence. It is a totally different situation with a gathering of people in a work place, even if entry isn't charged. I know its stupid, I know its ridiculous. I was just trying to pass on some info. I can't be bothered to argue it, because I know I'm right. Not according to FIFA. The agreements with the BBC, ITV, etc are all intertwined with this. Honestly, why have they bothered putting up a whole section about licences if its as simple as "If its on TV, whack it on" ?

We're going through this at the moment, and you do need a licence from FIFA to show it. They require you to have a non-commercial public viewing licence. The licence is free, but it is required. Unfortunately, the deadline for applications was 07/05/10.

Do all/any of the features on Securus NG actually work? The URL blocking on our Securus install can be defeated by simply creating a shortcut to a URL and then clicking that shortcut repeatedly until securus fails Its a 30 second speedbump If these things dont work, has the technical support been upgraded to the NEXT GENERATION as well? Current responses to our problems have been along the lines of "lol, really? Thats odd. Bye"

We've had one and three, but luckily not two. I think that would be the final straw that would result in it being ejected out of a window.

The Securus URL blocking doens't work at all. Enter a domain into the block list, create a shortcut to it using explorer. If you open it and refresh it a few times you'll get through on about the second or third attempt. Sometimes you get a few mangled bits of HTML from the "Access Denied!" page, but rarely. Chocolate teapot.

Thanks all, I'll put the weighing idea forward and see what they make of it.

It's an idea, but I'm not sure if we can trust them. We're running it as a competition between the four sections of the school. There may be a little bit of counting bias going on between factions. Someone else suggested weighing, it doesn't seem like a bad idea - but we may need a fairly big critical mass of them before we can start that. May set a baseline by counting at first, then weighing when we hit 1k or so.

Hi, Long time reader, first time poster Wasn't sure where to put this, as it isn't really hardware or software, apologies if this isn't right! I work in a mid sized secondary and I've been handed the task of running our Tesco Voucher collection in 2009. Previously our Tesco vouchers have been counted by a parent, but their child is leaving the school this year and so these services will no longer be available. Does anyone know of any automated way to count them? Weighing? Bill counter? Management are trying to avoid me sitting in the office at lunch time every day with a bin full of tickets. Thanks.
