I work for a MAT which consists of 5 schools. As staff move round the MAT we are thinking of moving to one server - eg remove all servers and replace with one big server. At present we have a vpn which is fine for the finance staff to connect to other sites but this is only FTTC 40mb-80mb. Should we have p2p connections from all sites to main site and then internet connection from main site? Also all sites do have ruckus but they all have ZD’s (some quite old) is there a way to mange the wireless from one site eg link the ZD’s or would it be best to also replace? Thanks

There isn't any sets in dhcp, its just one dhcp range. Thats why on the pc's they auto get dhcp but manually put dns to look at the correct server. I think its best to either change to one domain or keep them separate with a trust. Just thought.. and i havent checked yet -but as they are on one dhcp i hope users cant click on network to browse. (they have a large accounts department)

Hi Im helping someone with there network and I'm a little confused. They have a router which has two different networks configured (but only using one network) They have two servers both different domain names, both have active directory, both have dns. Only one has dhcp for both servers. One network has to input dns setting in every pc manually. The reason it is setup like this is so one person can see both servers. Wouldnt it be better for both servers to be separate and setup a trust between servers, or is this a new way of doing things? Thanks
