I've been preparing W10 for deployment here as well. To get rid of the search bar I've used a registry key deployed by GPO and it works like a charm. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search SearchboxTaskbarMode REG_DWORD DECIMAL 0 Setting the value to 0 will cause the whole bar to disappear and setting the value to 1 will cause the bar to appear as a magnifying glass button.
