Hi All, I'm approaching the end of my contract with my current antivirus / end point security provider and with budgets getting ever tighter here in West Sussex, the thought has crossed my mind about the possibility of switching to Windows Defender only on my servers (2013 / 2016) and desktops/laptops (Windows 10 1803)... Has anyone been brave or perhaps crazy enough to try this themselves or are we under the opinion that Microsoft cannot protect us exclusively and we still need additional security even after all these years since Windows Defender was implemented?

Client is still 32Bit only and I've had issues with ESET thinking the eSafe client is malware and causing a headache with constant virus scans. Very good support form them though.

ESET here and pretty happy with it. I find the UI for the remote administrator console to be a bit of a faff, certainly not as intuitive as others with having to create lots of rules and going through multiple steps to get information such as the threats it has found on a host. But the most important thing is it works and it doesn't hinder performance, even on older devices with low specification.

So we recently purchased an 8Gb / 120Gb model and have to admit, pretty impressed with it. The better specification device comes with a fully fledged SSD rather than EMMC found on the 4Gb model which is lightning quick for read and write speeds. Battery life is easily 7 hours plus with general office use, browsing, RDP etc. Yet to take it off Windows 10 S Mode and upgrade the home edition so being hampered with MS EDGE rather than Chrome / Firefox. So far the only negative aspect from people who have seen it is the screen size. Shame they shrunk it down to a 10" screen rather than the bigger Pro.

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing issues deploying SIMS via Solus to Windows 10 1709 update? My SIMS server is currently Server 2008 R2 and when deploying, I get a generic permissions error... I have also noticed that I cannot C$ from the SIMS server to any device with 1709 installed but can to older versions of Windows 10. I have a print server which is also Server 2008 R2 and is up to date with Windows updates but I can C$ to Windows 10 1709 devices from that. If anyone else is experiencing the same issue and knows a work around, I would be very grateful! I'm hoping on hearing that I need to update my SIMS server to newer hardware which supports Server 2016
