We migrated from Windows 7 to Windows 10 1803 this summer. Things have went fairly smoothly aside from these two little quirks that I can't seem to figure out. When a new user logs on to the computer, the Welcome Screen pops up in Edge. For teacher systems, it not a problem since their accounts stay on the system, but it is an issue for students and in labs since their accounts are removed after logging out. The other issue I am having is that I am unable to make Chrome the default browser for accounts that were on the systems before I discovered that I could import a default apps profile with the Dism.exe /Online /Import-DefaultAppAssociations: command. All users that were not on the system previously take advantage of the settings in that XML, but user accounts (mainly teachers) that logged on to their systems before I had pushed that setting out require manual intervention to set Chrome as the the default browser. I've tried copying the XML to a local spot on the hard drive and point the Set a default associations configuration file to it, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. No matter what I try, Edge continues to be the default browser unless I manually go in to the Default Apps and select chrome.
These seem like such simple issues to resolve, but I am stumped. Does anybody have some pointers to fix this on 1803?
