  1. We have a strange issue where some staff members are not seeing the ability to approve videos and are instead being forced into restricted mode. I have set a ignore setting for staff on content modifications YouTube etc but it has had no impact. Does anyone know how the Google workspace setting (Classroom teachers can approve videos) works with Smoothwall content restrictions? Is it recommended to use both? We have Smoothwall currently on Leeds 70 if that helps. Thanks
  2. A few cashless solutions are using Biostore which is good as we can migrate fingerprints over. Still looking for one that can also do NRS fingerprints, though. I'm guessing this won't be possible as it's too bespoke. Anyonee using AMI ?- looks good!
  3. Hi Edugeek,Can anyone recommend a good cashless system that does the following? Multi school/academy support Arbor sync SIMS sync Tucasi Payment support Migration of Biostore 2.2 fingerprints Migration of NRS fingerprints if possible also Thank you Ash
  4. Hi Jaan, I managed to move everything onto a Server 2019 VM but it's only the latest version of Impact not the newer Fusion I believe. Does Fusion still use Biostore?Summary of what I did: Impact Copied Impact folder from physical to new server. Ran service install bat files in Impact folder: Impact Internet Payments, Impact Query Service and Impact DataServer. Updated impact.ini for new backup path. Biostore The Biostore Primary and Express installers kept erroring (something about permissions) so I just manually extracted and then copied the files into the relevant locations (program files, control panel items in system). Normally you would install Biostore Primary for database and Biostore Express for Secondary, Client, IDManager, IDStation and IDBrowser (Biostore update exe won't work without IDBrowser). You will need your licenses and site code. I found ours on old server. Exported Biostore service registry keys from old machine and them imported them. Only did this because installer wouldn't run for me! Configured all Biostore programs to match old server. Network Gave the VM two network adapters and reused old IPs. We had the Biostore server on one VLAN but the kitchen machine was on another which the Reval units and tills point to. MIS Sync Copied across MISLink folder and SIMS. Modified MISLink .ini file for new drive letter. MISLink uses SIMS reports and must be able to resolve your document server address. This one caught me out because new server isn't domain joined. Exported & imported the scheduled tasks for Biostore update and MISLink. Unfortunately the tills and revals are still XP but they don't touch the Internet. Maybe I could upgrade those in the same way! Ash
  5. Hello Edugeek, We are using Impact alongside SIMS, Biostore and Tucasi Online Payments: A physical machine in the kitchen that holds the Impact database and Tucasi sync. A virtual server that has the MIS sync and Biostore/IDstore database. Everything is Windows XP and I am looking at upgrading, at the very least, the physical box to Windows 10 as it accesses the Internet. I was wondering if it's also possible to consolidate both into one server? Has anyone managed to achieve this or any reason why they need to be separate? It would be much easier for us to backup and restore if they were both virtual. Regards, Ash
  6. It was RAM all along. Anything lower than 3GB logs the user off when switching or prompts you at logon "This user needs to sign out before another user can use the PC." Ash
  7. Looks like Microsoft have removed support for this feature on older CPUs? All our machines that are affected seem to be using Athlon and Athlon X2 processors.
  8. Dear Edugeek, Fast user switching seems to be disabled on some but not all of our newly built 1903 domain joined machines. Using the switch user option in Start Menu just logs off the current user. There is also no switch user option in ctrl + alt + delete prompt. I have checked for HideFastUserSwitching in regedit keys and it doesn't exist. There is no GPO that could explain this that I can see. What am I missing? Is there a regedit to force it back on? Thanks for the help!
  9. Morning all,Does anyone else use Impact for their cashless catering? Since the beginning of the term the tills just freeze when kitchen staff press finish. We had a corrupted DAT table but Cunninghams support fixed that error. They are now blaming our network but we never had freezing on the tills prior to the data corruption. Can anyone help as Cunninghams support is terrible!Thank you in advance,Ash
  10. Dear edugeek users, I have followed the guide (http://supportfiles.microlib.co.uk/mls.azure.ad.pdf) provided by MLS to get it working with our Azure directory but we're still unable to get single sign on to work. My understanding is that once you get to the end of the guide a student should be able to browse to our microlibrarian site and it should sign them on automatically? Is there anything additional we need to do on our ADFS server? I know I had to do a relying trust when I did SSO for something else but I had support from an expert when I did that. We also use a different UPN for our staff and students, is that supported? I have got a ticket raised with MLS but they are beyond slow! Thanks very much in advance for any help. Ash
