Thanks for your reply. Yes, its dim. Model: Toshiba Satellite L500-02F running Windows 7, 32 bit OS. I am quite sure its not power saving issue.

Toshiba Satellite laptop screen goes dim about 4/5 seconds after the power is turned on. Under light can see the laptop running. After checking few other posts of similar type, I connected with external monitor and the screen is there. If I extend (or duplicate) the monitor to laptop screen, it shows 4/5 seconds and then goes dim on the laptop screen.
