update, I have disconnected from the network, and removed entry from AD computers, DNS and DCHP when I have reconnected AD Computers finds the IP along with DNS but DHCP does not, and i still can not log in on the laptop

both! and yes it has picked up an ip address from within the scope

do i have to have an active internet connection to the server?

tried this and nothing

Complete new set up laptop is using windows 10 education, server 2012r2 I had to manually tell the laptop the DNS address if this helps

Hi complete noob here so apologies! I have set up a server, installed DHCP, AD, DNS, i have added a laptop to the domain, however it reboots but then will not let me log in. I can see the machine in DNS and DCHP. thanks
