  1. Thanks RTW, but there isn't a fix I haven't tried. Using the Command Prompt, I tried numerous times to install from the .msu files, even leaving the darned pc on all day and most of the evening. The corruption of files continued. I just tried the *.qmgr file delete from SAFE START, and it hasn't made any difference. I shall just have to continue copying the PACKAGES from my other pc to keep this one up-to-date.
  2. I've been trying to resolve this problem since last March 9 Downloads. Something went wrong during the March d/l and nothing appeared nor since. I found it was some sort of Flash Player anomaly, which caused a $130 error on the HDD. 2 or 3 runs with Dskchk /R cleared this, and subsequent application of MICROSOFT Fixes seems to have eliminated the 80070003 or 2 errors, but the Downloader agent gets 0x8024000B [WU_E_CALL_CANCELLED = Operation was cancelled]. MSE updates, but these updates only appear in the Installed Updates as "failed", even though they obviously worked. Repairs have zapped every Security Update I ever installed. I have a second pc available, and copied the "Packages" from this. Also, I've repaired the affected Registry areas and copied relevant System files. Windows Updates is sitting there, Red Shield, "you haven't downloaded any updates". Scanning the file system produces answers as to what files aren't working - "corrupt", but I still cannot get Updates to work. *.exe works, but not *.msu, even via the Command Prompt. The mystery is, I Installed a 3rd Party package called 360 (this freebie is useful to replace MS functions on XP running on VMware guest: Virus checks and Updates). Anyhow, 360 found some MS Win 7 Security Updates, albeit 2 months old, and installed them - MS configuration and Restart and all [it is snail-slow, though]. If this humble little package and MSE can do it, what is the Downloader's problem? I've been on MS Community and a few other help sites, but what with running SAFE MODE, renaming Files, re-registering Updates and other procedures, including attempting a repair from the Installation disk which won't work because of downloading problems, this User is stymied. Any help, please?
