Because it uses an SQLite database, make sure that by substing or similar you don't risk to open the same catalogue on different machines. Having said that, besides subst, you can also keep the catalogue on one single machine, and share it out using things like SeaFile. The restriction of having the catalogue open on always only one machine still applies, of course.
