We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamicICT Network Manager to strategically manage the development and maintenance ofour ICT infrastructure. The Academy currently has a range of Windows / Macworkstations, laptops and iPads. Deadline for applications: midday Friday 07 October 2016 Interviews: week commencing 10 October 2016 MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To assist with the management and delivery of a safe, robust and effective curriculum and administrative ICT resource for use by students and staff. To lead and develop the ICT support team within the administration and curriculum areas. To define procedures and provide advanced technical support. To ensure that legal and contractual obligations relating to ICT resources, systems, people and services are met. STRATEGIC PLANNING Develop medium and long term coordinated planning based on the schools educational objectives to keep the school up to date with developments in ICT. Plan for major developments of the ICT service and project manage their implementation. In conjunction with the nominated member of SLT, develop ICT strategically within the Academy to achieve a safe and efficient ICT environment for staff and students. Advise the Senior Leadership Team on emerging technologies as appropriate. Support the full range of planning for ICT through the identification, planning and costing of all future developments and upgrades to achieve best value for the school. Monitor and review the types and amounts of system use. Attend relevant meetings where the ICT service is discussed and input is required. RESOURCE MANAGEMENT · Setsupport priorities, balancing response to support requests with the need tofollow planned monitoring and maintenance, in the context of staff availabilityand wider ICT service demands. · Managethe relevant IT budgets and achieve best value for the schools ICT expenditure. · Linemanage the schools ICT support staff. Carry out annual performance reviews asrequired. · Supportthe school in ordering, stocking and replenishing ICT consumables. · Ensurethat legal and contractual obligations relating to ICT resources, softwarelicencing, systems and services are met. · Manageand implement the installation of all new computer software as required,enabling the delivery of ICT to all operational areas. · Designand implement the school policy on asset disposal. · Liaisewith external engineers and manage external contracts as appropriate. DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF TECHNICALSYSTEMS · Ensureall school ICT systems are fully operational at all times. · Advisethe Senior Leadership Team on the implementation of ICT policies and procedures. · Design,implement, monitor and review school procedures for managing and recordinginstallations and configuration changes. · Design,implement and manage the network infrastructure to meet the school’srequirements. Manage active network components including switches and routers;install additional servers, keep the network operating system up to date andoversee the maintenance of network stations. · Providesecond level in-school support for more complex requests; perform advancedtroubleshooting on PCs’ peripherals and applications. Advise on compatibilityof hardware, applications and operating systems, according to userrequirements. · Managethe Academy Management Information Systems, primarily SIMS.net and any otherrelated school systems. · Managethe schools telephony system. · Overseeschool printing solutions. · Ensureall current and planned web-based technologies remain fully operational. · Overseethe schools intranet system. · Managethe functioning and deployment of applications. · Designand implement the schools security and back-up systems and plan disasterrecovery contingencies to enable an efficient return of service after anyunforeseen system outages. · Design,implement and maintain the schools Anti-Virus system. · Manageand maintain the schools growing network of Apple Macintosh computers. · ManageMicrosoft technologies and any other relevant network services. · Manageinternet access filtering, email filtering and related monitoring systems. · Tobe responsible for maintaining the schools computer inventory. · Managethe schools digital signage systems when it is developed. · Upgraderelevant systems out of normal business hours to ensure minimum downtime forstaff during critical periods. DEVELOPING THE EXPERTISE OF OTHERS INEMERGING TECHNOLOGIES · Supportthe school Virtual learning Environment as required. · Conducttraining on appropriate use of ICT resources; document systems and procedures. · Supportstaff with ICT related problems. · Produceand analyse reports on support requests for management purposes; advise the SLTon possible training activities based on support log analysis. · Toundertake available training opportunities and demonstrate a commitment tocontinuous development. · Holdtraining sessions for both IT support staff and end users on schooltechnologies based on the requirements of the school. · Toundertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature, asdefined by line management from time-to-time, subject to the proviso thatnormally any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated into the jobdescription in specific terms. · Performany other task deemed reasonable by the Principal.
