OK. In a nutshell: Photoshop Beta already runs much faster than the Intel build and will - likely - be fully supported by Adobe in January or February. You should note that there currently isn’t feature-parity between the two PS versions, though! InDesign and Illustrator have no published roadmap for support from Adobe. So, you could be waiting for months. A graphic designer friend of mine has tried InDesign on her M1 MacBook Air and says that it is much slower than her Intel MacBook Pro. I would expect this to continue through the first half of 2021, at least.

Are you asking about the whole suite running under Rosetta 2, or the Photoshop native M1 Beta?

Oh, and, going back a step: I assume that you have sorted out the routing of your VPN's IP address to the local LAN?

You say that the "firewall equipment" allows for port 3389, what about the software firewalls on the VMs. I would start there.

Ouch! Expensive. So, if it is sold as a single unit then then the digitizer is bonded to the LCD, which means that you will have a big gaping void around the perimeter if you just replace the LCD, for £26. Unless you can find - separate - 11.6" screen glass that happens to fit perfectly - not likely. Let me make a couple of calls tomorrow and see if I can come up with anything.

I believe that the screen and digitizer are separate parts on these Acer laptops. Usually the digitizer is around twice the price of the screen, so £175+ is a bit "gougy" (over £75 is high for an hourly rate). When you say "fully functioning" do you mean that the LCD is undamaged? If so, why not just buy the digitizer and replace that? If you need any help just drop me a PM.

Oh, and Dell have recently added a 4 year NBD warranty option, for not very much money. Plus they sell accidental damage cover, direct.

It sounds like you are looking for the Dell Vostro 3559. Nicely built. Much cheaper than the Latitudes. Only comes with a 128GB SSD, though. Dell's field service has been excellent in my experience, and it is under £450 inc. VAT. Let me know if you need any more help.
