  1. Hi, I would like to know what I should write on the registry to force the file to open with a special application. I am doing a RIS install on several XP PC. The silent install based on batch file install succefully several application like winamp and VLC. The both application are install silently (without user intervention). The problem is that file like WMV, MPG or MP3 are still using Windows media player to open. So, I would like to run a command to force the program that I want for this kind of file. I tried to copy data from the registry that I change on a other computer, but without success. What did i miss ? Or is there an other easy solution? A exemple of my file to change the registry : My command that I run to install the Registry : @echo Off Echo Change Registry Extension file Default Program regedit /s \\SERVER\REMINST\Software\Registry\REG.reg The Reg.reg file Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.flv] @="flv_auto_file" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\flv_auto_file] @="" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\flv_auto_file\shell] [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\flv_auto_file\shell\Play] @="Play with VLC" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\flv_auto_file\shell\Play\command] @=""C:\\Program Files\\VideoLAN\\VLC\\vlc.exe" --one-instance-when-started-from-file \"%1\"" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\VOB_auto_file] @="" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\VOB_auto_file\shell] [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\VOB_auto_file\shell\Play] @="Play with VLC" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\VOB_auto_file\shell\Play\command] @="C:\\Program Files\\VideoLAN\\VLC\\vlc.exe --one-instance-when-started-from-file \"%1\"" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DAT_auto_file] @="" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DAT_auto_file\shell] [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DAT_auto_file\shell\Play] @="Play with VLC" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DAT_auto_file\shell\Play\command] @="C:\\Program Files\\VideoLAN\\VLC\\vlc.exe --one-instance-when-started-from-file \"%1\"" .................
