About JohnMcMahon

  1. So after starting over in MDT and still having the same problem I tried installing from the ISO into a blank VM and sysprep still hangs. Thinking either our ISO off the volume site is bad or there is something weird with the VM I am deploying to. Redownloading ISO, which is also a newer build then what we are using. Next step is to try new build and to deploy to VMware if hyper-V still has issues. At least it looks like all my MDT work is probably valid since it doesn't appear to be the issue.
  2. All of my task sequences work fine but when I start the sysprep portion of the capture the VM hangs during the generalize phase (literally the screen stops redrawing, no CPU activity shows in hyper-V, etc). I've never seen this before while syspreping. At one point I had a bluescreen/frowny face during sysprep which I resolved and I do remove and de-provision all the windows store apps. I've started from a completely clean task sequence from the defaults in MDT and it still does the same thing. I have mixed feelings on the 'blocking windows 10 reference image from internet during build' stuff I have seen. From what I understand people only say this so that store apps don't get installed and you need to remove them. I was using MDT 2013 update 1 and was having the issue so I upgraded to MDT 2013 update 2 hoping it would be resolved but no go. I found one person on this forum who was having the same issue and he rebuilt the server which I am trying to avoid until I understand the underlying cause of the issue.
