About Mariowarrior777

  1. Hey guys I forgot to mention between step 4 and 5 of A part that you have to change the location folder to microsoft office 2007 in one of the tabs of the customize menu.
  2. This simple trick was done on Windows XP Pro 32 bit version A.- Installing both office 2003 and office 2007 on the same system 1.- Install office 2003 before you install office 2007. 2.- Create a folder in the program files folder with the name microsoft office 2007 or another name, it does not matter. 3.- When installing office 2007 click on customize button. 4.- Then click on keep previous versions of office (or something like that, my OS is in spanish). 5.-After installation and reboot click on start/run and type in regedit. 6.- When the windows pops up go to the following: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Options 7.- now insert a DWORD value by going to edit-new-DWORD value. 8.- type in exactly "NoReReg" without quotes, then double click on it, click on decimal and type in 1 and accept. 9.- Repeat procedure in steps 7 and 8, but throught the following: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Options 10.- Reboot to apply changes. Now you Should not get the dialog boxes every time you switch office versions. B.- Changing file associations in order to open .doc and other files with office 2003 and .docx and other files with office 2007 If you have the micosoft office compatibility pack for word, excel and powerpoint 2007 installed, then you have to unistall it. 1.- go to local disk/program files/microsoft/OFFICE11 and change the names of all executables (WINWORD, POWERPNT, OIS, MSPUB, MSACCESS, EXCEL, INFOPATH) to whatever you want, for example WINWORD2003. 2. Then right click on an .doc file, click on open with, then click on choose program, when the window pops up click on browse and look for WINWORD2003 or the name you assigned it, which is in the OFFICE11 folder. 3.- after you have selected the microsoft office word with the old icon, check the box that says besides it something like always use this program... and click accept or ok (my OS is in spanish). 4.- Repeat the procedure in steps 2 and 3 for all office 2003 programs. 5.- now right click on a .docx file, click on open with, then click on choose program, select the microsoft office word with the new icon, check the box that says besides it something like always use this program... and click accept or ok. 6.- Repeat procedure in step 5 for all office 2007 programs. Now .doc and other files should open with office 2003 and .docx and other files should open with office 2007. for more information go to: Installing Office 2003 and Office 2007 on the same system - David Overton's Blog - David Overton's Blog and Discussion Site How to get rid of the installer / configuration dialog when running Office 2007 and Office 2003 on the same system - for Vista and other versions of Windows - David Overton's Blog - David Overton's Blog and Discussion Site Information about using 2007 Office suites and programs on a computer that is running another version of Office I did not find out this by myself I googled it.
