  1. Works on other computers using their respective User logins. However, I haven't tried using my User login on the other computers. It has to be something related to my User. I'm not sure which properties to be comparing. Another User with similar access also is able to open the doucment. I don't know what Active Directory is. I am on a client/server network for these shared drives (I think).
  2. Blah. Deleted profiles and still have the same problem. To the microsoft forums! (Although they will tell me the problem is not their fault, so I don't know why I bother).
  3. No offence taken. I've seen that suggestion in other places where they were discussing similar issues. Thanks for the advice.
  4. I'll look into deleting part of a profile, but I'm not sure where to begin. No I can't select any text. I'm not that incompetent There is no text in the file to select. the images, graphs, logos, etc are not in the document either.
  5. Hello, My company has a locally hosted server for our shared drive. Today I am unable to open a few word documents that I have created and been actively using for the past few months. The documents affected are only ones that I have created and all are .docx. Other .doc and .docx files saved to the sahred drive work just fine. I am the only user affected by this issue. I have used other users' PC's and opened up the document and it worked just fine. Everytime I open these select word documents it appears to open correctly, but the entire document is blank. The title is correct, the number of words on the page is correct, and when I go to print preview the document looks just as it should. Yet I am unable to edit the document or view it in any other way. It just looks like a blank word document with the exception of the title and the lower status bar (see image). I have tried saving it to my desktop and opening the document. I've tried resaving/renaming the doucment. I've tried saving a new copy in the same location with a new name. The only way I am able to open the document is with another user. Not sure what details are relevant and what details are useless, so I'll wait for questions. 4 months ago we switched to O365 (are not using the cloud) and this is the first problem I've had thus far. I've seen a few similar questions posted online revolving around the Users section saved in MS Word directory- but I'm not sure what I'm doing there and don't want to mess it up. Any advice? Thanks in advance! Brendan
