Ok here's a strange one. If I export a video file from Digital Blue into My Docs on local machine WMP plays the file fine, if I copy and paste the same file onto the network share then WMP just shows the visualisation stuff. It's not a permissions issue, I created a share with full control. If I open up mplayer2.exe it's fine, something tells me it's a codec issue but why would it play fine from local machine. How do I tell WMP 11 to play these files.?????

Do you have access to a external CD drive? You could try running bootcfg /rebuild from XP recovery console this has solved a few problems for me in the past.
