Hi Quackers, just found your extremely helpful post from Jan 2015 and wondered if you'd mind answering a few questions, since I'm about to attempt a similar approach for OS X network users of forcing local home directory on startup disk, and then redirecting a few folders back to the network home folder. Are you only doing the 4 folders you mention in your post (Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures)? I was planning to also redirect Desktop and ~/Library/Preferences. Have you run into any trouble with any specific folders? Have you run into any problems with this overall approach? Are you still using it and is it still working for you? What version are your OS X clients now, and do you have El Capitan clients successfully using this approach? And finally, what was the reason for turning the login script into an executable with Platypus instead of running it as a script? Thanks in advance for any information you could provide.
