Colleagues Did this problem ever get solved as I now have something very similar? We have moved our tutor period back to the start of the day from after morning break this year. I built tutor time as a fake lesson last year to enable teachers to be allocated to it, rooms, kids etc as it was not designated am registration. This year I did not bother - just tagged it as a registration period in Nova T and made it am attendance. Now attendance team is screaming blue murder as missing am registers are not showing up in missing register notification box. Is there any way to make am registers appear in that box without having to set tutor time up in Nova-T with staff etc?

Thanks - I'll ask our guy to do that but will the same kind of thing work for reports?

In year Seven and Eight Dance and PE are half-blocked against each other and rotate every short term (terms 1-6). They retain the same class name as all we do is change the teacher over in Nova-T. I have taught myself how to use Student Carousel wizard at long last but another problem remains. The PE and Dance teacher are always moaning that entering reports and tracking data is difficult as the main class teacher retains ownership of these areas. We have had a few instances of colleagues overwriting each others entries and it causes aggravation. Is there a way of creating two separate reporting and tracking arrangements for such a situation in SIMS or Nova T?

Ha - thank you. It is enormously reassuring to know we are not the only ones dealing with this in exactly this way. Until someone writes an enormously complicated Excel sheet.

Has anyone ever come up with a brilliant solution to this kind of old-fashioned, cut and paste paper operation? Students need to come out of timetabled lessons for music lessons on a rolling programme that avoids hitting the same lesson every week and also has to take account of when students are at off-site PE and Dance Provision. Sometimes the lessons are individual ones, sometimes in ensembles. At present it is done by wading through paper student timetables, the whole school timetable and the peri music teacher's availability and groupings. There is nothing in SIMS that is of much help. It must be possible to take the strain out of creating break duty rotas by using Excel and the IF function. Has anyone done this?
