Several years ago I purchased a few domain names for my parents business. I was advised that this would be a good move incase they go and I would be able to "merge" them, so if someone typed in the other domain name (as an example farming.com then it would drift to the main site of stusfamilyfarm.com - However, I am not sure how to do to this.
Website designing is all complex to me, so I've never got round to doing this - but I am still paying the annual domain names. I purchased all the domain names with 123-reg.co.uk. I find their technical support very complex and hard - I've been "told" by many people it is easy to merge domain names onto one website, but when I ask how to do it all I get told is "its easy" without any explanation.
My second question would be more of a business one. I've heard that there are two ways in which you can "merge" domain names.
1) If I type - the website e.g. ict.com in the address bar, it will then change to "ictworld.com" and load up the ictworld.com website.
2) If I type it.com in the address bar, it will not change but will still load up the "ictworld.com" website.
Out of these, which would be the best option in terms of generating hits and be more profitable in terms of google searches.
