Hi all, Just wondered if it's possible to stop a user logging in more than once on different machines? I have a pupil who likes to share their login details and is currently logged in to 7 different machines at once. Is it possible to stop this via Group Policy? I didn't find much on Google but perhaps I haven't phrased the search right! Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately not. 11.4 stopped working on Macs some time ago.

Hi guys, Does anyone know if it is possible to swap the default second screen in Windows 10? By default the display is set to 'Duplicate' and I'm hoping to set the default as 'Extended'. I have a new member of staff who is completely IT illiterate and Windows+P is too much hard work apparently. Thanks!

Hi all, I'm just conducting a tiny bit of research regarding classroom resources for teachers. At my secondary school each member of staff is given a laptop and every classroom has a projector, Interactive White Board with the necessary connections, speakers and a visualizer if they're lucky! What IT hardware is given to teacher's at your school? I'm trying to come up with a sustainable model as we're seeing so many breakages with laptops and I'm wondering we need to go back to good ol' desktops in classrooms. My HT has asked what other schools do, so I thought I'd ask the right community! Thanks in advance guys.

Hi Mike, Normally password requirements are set in the default domain policy - well at least that’s where it should be. I’m not aware of any way to search for keywords in GPOs sadly!

I wondered if there was a free/open-source third party plugin for Outlook that encrypts emails and requires the recipient to enter a password (or some other security measure).

Hi all, Our hand was forced by the local authority to begin using Egress Switch to send/receive encrypted emails. Egress is great but unfortunately the school I work at have next to no budget available to license any new software. Are there any good free and trustworthy solutions out there? We just need an Outlook plugin but struggling to find one. Has anyone got any recommendations? Many thanks!

Thanks guys, I think there may have been a rogue GPO causing problems. I've since been able to get it to work installing via start-up script. Another EduGeek user kindly uploaded the 11.4 package. Seems to be ok now!

I ended up installing it to a network share, I can see why it is the preferred option, so much easier! Thanks for your help bud.

Hi all, I'm hoping someone might be able to clarify the situation with SMART Notebook 11.4 for me? I'm aware that 11.4 is no longer supported on Windows (which is fair enough, it's very old) but are we still freely able to use it? I can't get the software to install but I believe it is s because the site I'm at is on Windows 10 1803 and fully up to date via WSUS. It was previously installed via Group Policy however the software uninstalled itself - do we know if an update from SMART killed the software or if it's simply fallen victim to a Windows Update? Issues with .NET 4.7 perhaps? Grateful for any information on this!

Hi all, I have an MSI that I can install via Group Policy however there is a separate configuration file that needs to be deployed with it into the installation folder in C:\Program Files\Name of Software\Settings folder. At the moment I have the software and the settings file in the same GPO, the problem is that the settings file creates the folder path which in turn makes the software fail to install because the software path already exists (if that makes sense, the software thinks it's already installed). Is it possible to have the software install first and then the settings file be copied over afterwards? If s how might I go about doing that? Thank you for your help!

SOLVED Turns out it was unrelated to 4Matrix itself but a Group Policy setting I needed to enable. Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Group Policy > Specify startup policy processing wait time - Set to 120. By making the delay, the software finally installed.

Note to admins: At the moment I'm not sure if this is a 4Matrix issue or Group Policy, please feel free to move the post if needed. Hi all, Long story short I can't get 4Matrix deployed across the network and can't find an error/reason why. I've spent 65 minutes chatting to their support team and they can't help, so hopefully there's a clever clogs here who might be able to help. 4Matrix Network Manager is installed on a server, and the MSI files folder is shared and users have the correct permissions on the files. The MSIs are stored in the same shared area as other software packages we have which deployed with no issues (to the same OU and users/PCs in AD). The 'settings' file generated by 4MNM is also in the folder. The MSI can be run by the user manually and the 4Matrix install wizard appears just fine. RSOP gives a small warning icon on the 4Matrix MSI but none of the others, I've checked Event Viewer and the properties of the software package and can't find any error information. I'm not really sure where to look next, any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Potentially, I've seen many different issues offline - this does sound familiar though... try enabling offline files and see if the problem still exists.

Hi Steve, Thanks for your advice. I do redirect desktops, I initially had disabled offline files. After some playing around I've had to cave in and enable offline files and now Office works perfectly.

Hi all, Having a slight problem with Office 2016 off of the network (My users are running Windows 10 1806 and have local profiles with folder redirection enabled) If we take Word for example, when connected to the domain it runs fantastically. When the user takes their laptop home and opens up word, the program stalls and crashes 9 times out of 10. Is it something to do with AppData? I'm a little lost on this and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! EDIT: IF (by some margin of luck) Word does run, the users also can't save their work with Word citing 'Word has insufficient memory. Do you want to save Document1 as Rescued document?'
