just out of curiosity how did you get in the bios, all we can access is the EFI shell?

Hi .. luckily we managed to get the right password after trying some usual ones. I did email LINX or exertis about the issue and there official response was: "Hi There Unfortunately this is not an Issue we are able to assist with, As this is a software based problem, please consult Microsoft on 0344 800 2400, cheers. " Considering the fact that if anyone forgets their password there does not appear to be a way of resetting the device, for a home user this effectively bricks the device. I hope you find a resolution on your unit.

Hi there, We have a similar issue we have a 1010b Windows 10 tablet and the user has forgotten the local windows password, not a live account. We have tried to get access to the command prompt, and reset but both require you to log on with an admin account, so we then turned to try to boot from USB optical and USB memory stick, both of which failed when the tablet said that was not a boot option, and we could only choose windows boot manager or EFI shell. Any ideas ?? I have contacted Linx and they have said all they can do is get a USB flash drive (probably at a cost) out to us in around two weeks after I email in!!!!
