We are. They are very good but it is worth getting quotes from elsewhere to push their prices down.

We bought some laptops from them a couple of years ago and they are the worst laptops we have ever bought. We have had numerous faults and the company does everything they can to get out of repairing them. We bought an on-site warranty and we have to fight with them every time to get an on-site repair. Some of the repairs took weeks get someone on site. They have improved a bit lately but we still have to fight to get an on-site repair. We will never buy from this company again.

When we were hit the way that we found the infected computer was to search for the recovery files (one of the ones you have listed) in the user areas. Whichever user's area has been hit will have the infected computer. We completely re-imaged the infected computer. If they do not have backups then they either have to pay the ransom or accept that the files are gone for ever.

We use PaperCut and we allocate all students an amount each week that they can top up for free if they come and ask (but we will look at the legitimacy of what they have already printed) this is budgeted for centrally. Staff charge their printing and copying to their departments as you have suggested. Most departments give teachers free reign to charge as much as they but we do have one department that restricts how much each person can charge per term. We charge different amounts for different printers too depending on how much the device costs the school.

One thing that seems to sharpen their focus a little is for you to let them know how much it is costing in pure vandalism alone. Keep a note of the cost of repairs including the amount of your time that is being spent. It is often a wake-up call.

Meh, we used to get 'IRA' bomb threats all the time when I was at school. In fact there was a phone box at the end of the road that many of them were called in from...when some students fancied a bit of time off lessons.
