  1. Sorry for the question - a colleague did the SIMS behaviour training course, and then left... You can create a behaviour entry directly from a class register via a right-hand mouse click. Can you automatically add these pupils to a detention? I'm asking as we want to focus on missed homework - the penalty for which will be a lunchtime detention - and SLT want staff to be able to create the detentions quickly. I can't even see a class filter when you selected New in the "Linked Students" section of a detention.
  2. I'm trying to upload a CTF to S2S to get ULN's - but even when I try to upload just one pupil (with the address in the correct fields), I'm getting the same errors: "• 8504149_CTF_NAALLLL_025.xml - This file does not appear to be a valid 10.0, 11.0, 12.0, 13.0, 14.0, 15.0, 16.0, 17.0, 18.0 or 19.0 CTF File - Please contact your School MIS Vendor •The element 'SourceSchool' in namespace '' has invalid child element 'URN' in namespace ''. List of possible elements expected: 'SchoolName, AcademicYear' in namespace ''. •The element 'DestSchool' in namespace '' has invalid child element 'URN' in namespace ''." Does anyone know what this means?! Thanks in advance!
  3. One of our parents is having problems accessing the Parent App since a recent update. On two devices she gets a "blank white screen titled 'Select School' after log in". She's deleted the app and re-installed it - and I've revoked her access and re-invited her, all with no joy. Her phone is Android version 9 and her tablet is Android version 5.0.1. The website works fine, so it's not a data issue. I've referred to our County Council support team, but was told they don't support parents - same apparently with Capita. They did think it might be a problem due to having another child at another school - but she doesn't... Anyone got parents with similar issues post-app update and is there a fix? Thanks in advance.
  4. Thanks for the reply. We're still using the old 5 A*-C inc En and Ma calc, particularly in marketing - I initially assumed a 4-3 would count as one pass, but looks like they need to pass both elements for 2 to be counted. Thanks again.
  5. Many of our pupils took AQA Science Trilogy (8464) for the first time this year. My question relates to when a pupil receives 4-3 grades - does anyone know if we can count the 4 as 1 towards the old 5+ 4-9/A*-C? We use 4Matrix and it looks like this isn't counting such pupils as 1 - but I've produced a check spreadsheet and I've split into two and counted the one 4 - but 4Matrix has me worried now! Thank you in advance.
  6. Excellent - thank you!
  7. One of our pupils' parents have divorced and one doesn't want the other to know her new contact details. Is there a way in SLG to hide the contact details of one parent from another? Thanks in advance.
  8. We've imported the Keys to Success pupil premium file for 2016/17 - but the Asst Head in charge of PP would like to plan better next year for pupils whose PP entitlement is going to expire. Is there anywhere I can download a PP end date (where applicable)? In the file from Keys to Success the end date is the same for all pupils - i.e. the end of the financial year - and the download for 2017/18 won't be done until June/July. Ideally we'd like to let parents of pupils who are about to expire know earlier. I seem to recall you used to be able to download FSM history, but can't see that anywhere now...
  9. We are relatively new to SIMS and I have a couple of questions, which I can't see answered in other threads... If you go into a student record and click Classes on the right hand side, you'll see the main class teachers - is there any way to see all teachers? Also, our learning support department wishes to message all teachers of a particular pupil. In the messages screen, selecting class teachers seems to only select those teaching that pupil on the current day - can it automatically send too all? Thanks in advance. Paul
  10. We have just moved back to SIMS from Facility. We would like to award pupils with achievement points for attending extra curricular activities. As these pupils will come from a variety of tutor groups/classes, it seems to be rather time consuming. I have thought setting up a User Defined Group might be the answer, but can't see anywhere to allocate achievements. Is this possible - or is there another way around this? Thank you in advance! Paul
