  1. Thanks for the help guys - all of you. Very informative. I'll probably have another go today.
  2. Messed about with some of the settings and ended up with ' no office apps ' showing. Which is not good. Got it back now by retracing my steps but i can't seem to see how anything in there is specific enough to achieve the result I want... and if it is, it's worded very funny. Would be so great if there was a ' Show apps on home page ' Word Excel Newsfeed Powerpoint People Tasks Sites Sway Calendar Mail Onenote With a simple tick box. Problem sorted.
  3. We have onsite exchange but we keep our kids away from this obvisouly... and our main requirements from O365 was to give students email access, word app, excel app, etc.. and an online drive to keep their files one. Nothing more. Seems very ' fiddly '. It's almost like you've got to disable something - which when will remove something else. But it seems there's a lot of 'hide' options. I just wish there was a simple ' Student mode' where kids can only access exactly what you want them to. Having said this i'm assuming there's a powershell way. Kids only have the ' Office 365 Education for students ' license.
  4. We have setup office 365 in our school and we are in the testing stages. A few things I've noticed is that - as well as standard office apps (word, excel etc.) - you get Delve, Sites, People and Newsfeed etc. Now, I don't know exactly what these all do, however what we would like to achieve is a complete restriction these apps. Students here (given any slack) will undoubtedly use them to slate each other on the net and before you know it, parents are involved asking why 'John Anybody' from year 7 is slagging off 'Justin Nobody' from year 8 regarding a fight they had at break time. There's enough risk in letting them have email, let alone any watered down profile/ sharing page. We want the most basic level of access - all the normal office apps to use for school work - and an online drive to store it... end of. Can you please tell me if this is possible ? I tried disabling Delve by using the Sharepoint admin centre setting,' hide Office Graphs ' but I found that there is a work around if you click your avatar then 'about me' so that solution seems more of a hide, than a disable.
  5. Yes, the strange thing is if we create a 'new user' in AD and sync it with Azure AD sync, the resulting office 365 account sends emails fine 'from [email protected]', but all the current students are sending emails from [email protected] and we can't work out why. Something has 'got' to be pulled across different from the 'new' user account in AD, when it syncs. So we deleted a user in Office, turned off the AD Sync and made sure all the details were right in the AD account. Turned sync back on and it pulled the account we deleted back through, BUT it still sends emails from .onmicrosoft.com. So irritating.
  6. As title really... Cannot for the life of me understand why this is happening. I log in as a user, it shows [email protected] ( we made the [email protected] the reply address as suggested elsewhere ) but when I sent an email to another account (my onsite exchange and offsite personal) it shows [email protected]. Primary email address in the user is our chosen sub domain address too. Basically we're at this last hurdle, and I can't workout why email is still coming from .onmicrosoft.com and not the subdomain address we have specified. Am I missing something really daft?
  7. Thanks lostsoul. Much appreciated.
  8. It's mainly to change the domain... from .onmicrosoft.com to our subdomain and also, to assign licenses to them all. Thanks for that guide Appreciated.
  9. Will it do all 1200 students at once ? Strange that they only allow 20 in the interface ? 20 is a bit low.
  10. We need to change all of our student users to another domain; we can do this in 20 user bulk, but how do we make changes to them all at once ? Can't seem to do it :/ Cheers.
  11. Cheers will look into that.
  12. Yeah we're using the one downloaded from the App store. Microsoft Remote Desktop with the red/orange square as the icon. It works on the iPad though, which is baffling.
  13. We have setup a Windows 2012 r2 RDS solution for our staff and it works when connecting from a Windows Machine, or iPAD externally. But for the life of us, we cannot get it working with the Microsoft Remote Desktop App on an imac. When we click Refresh ( remote resources ) nothing happens at all. It just says 'Refreshing Remote Resources'. Any ideas, thanks.
