  1. NOW I get it! I wasn't aware that that solder bridge connected ADD0 to GND. Obviously I shouldn't connect ADD0 to GND and 3.3V simultaneously. I'm going to take a closer look at the sensor, and I may want to get back to you with another question afterwards. Thanks for your help so far. Ed Meyer
  2. I have successfully connected a SEN-11931 Temperature Sensor (from SparkFun) to my RasPi and can log temperatures over time. I would like to connect two of these sensors at the same time. My problem is, how do I use a different address for the second sensor? Connecting the address pin (ADD0) to ground provides the address for the first sensor. I found something on the internet that says connecting the ADD0 pin to 3.3V should change the sensor's address, but when I try this, my RasPi crashes; i.e., the little red light goes dark. I was relieved to find that it doesn't seem damaged by the experience. Can someone tell me how to connect a second sensor to a different address in RasPi? Ed Meyer
  3. I followed "http://www.howtogeek.com/169679/how-to-add-a-printer-to-your-raspberry-pi-or-other-linux-computer/" successfully (I thought), but when I tried to print, nothing happened. Searching the internet reveals that Brother printers are a particular problem, but as a beginner, I was not able to understand any of the "fixes". Is there any hope that I can get my RasPi 2B to print on my Brother MFC-J435W printer? Ed Meyer
  4. Sure! Here it is: To use sound with ScratchGPIO, you currently need to run the "old" version of Scratch Load ScratchGPIO Once loaded - close it, Run LX Terminal type /usr/bin/scratch.old When Scratch re-opens File Open and select rsc Thank Simon Walters
  5. No need. He's the one who solved the problem for me!!
  6. That didn't do the trick for me, but at this point my problem has been solved. Thanks for your interest.
  7. Using ScratchGPIO6 (or 6plus, 7, or 7plus) ANY sound command I insert into a Sprite causes the screen to jump to the picture of the large red raspberry as soon as it "sees" the command. It will also jump there if I just click on any sound command. I use the audio output to my stereo speakers (through a sound mixer) because I can't get the HDMI cable (connected to the TV) to produce any sound, even after using raspi-config to tell it to. When I use Scratch 1.4, there is no problem with sound commands; they work fine, so the crash problem is peculiar to the GPIO versions of Scratch. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I'm a rank beginner, having discovered RasPi only weeks ago. Ed Meyer Sarasota, FL
